Kupang, July 27, 2020 – Yayasan Plan International Indonesia (Plan Indonesia) provides thousands of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for medical facilities in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.
The PPE are distributed to Bhayangkara Kupang Hospital, S.K. Lerik Kupang Hospital, 11 public health centers, and 7 public facilities. In addition, Plan Indonesia also donates hand washing facilities and learning kits for children to the hospitals as well as the Provincial Government of East Nusa Tenggara through the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Development Agency, Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Agency.
The PPE contributed by Plan Indonesia consisting of 3.900 pieces of adult mask and 920 pieces of child mask, 200 pieces of N95 mask, 100 pieces of parachute safety clothes, 42 disposable shield clothes, 100 face shields, 100 aprons, and 1800 hand gloves.

Other equipment supported are 6 units of children’s handwashing station, 26 adult handwashing stations, 145 bottles of hand soap, 152 pieces of Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) kits, 4 thermal guns, 167 pieces of children toy kits, 150 stationeries and story books, 180.000 liters of clean water for handwashing stations, and 11 pairs of COVID-19 informative banners.
“The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and handwashing stations from Plan Indonesia are our direct supports to the medical and health workers for protecting themselves while on duty, especially those who interact directly with COVID-19 infected patients,” said Maria Grace, Program Support Office Manager of Plan Indonesia in Kupang.
Grace added that this distribution is a part of COVID-19 emergency response program of Plan Indonesia which have been undergoing for three months.
The Head of Development Planning, Research, and Development Agency of East Nusa Tenggara, Lucky F. Koli also attended this event.
“Everyone shall support the efforts in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Plan Indonesia’s supports show not only their support to the government but also our community in preventing the COVID-19 from spreading.” said Lucky.
More than 450.000 children and adults have received the direct benefits from the emergency response program of Plan Indonesia including provision of clean water and hygiene kits, promotion of hygienic activities, children protection, and education access for children in remote areas.
Areas of Plan Indonesia COVID-19 emergency responses are East Nusa Tenggara (in South Central Timor, Nagekeo, Lembata, Belu, Malaka, and Manggarai districts), West Nusa Tenggara (in Lombok Barat, Lombok Utara, Mataram, and Sumbawa), Jakarta (in 18 villages) and Central Java. (***)
