Rancangan Undang-Undang Tindak Pidana Kekerasan Seksual (RUU TPKS) telah disahkan menjadi RUU usul inisiatif Badan Legislasi (Baleg) DPR RI kemarin (18/01). Menanggapi pengesahan ini, Indonesia Joining Forces (IJF), aliansi enam organisasi hak anak bersama-sama Aliansi PKTA dan Jaringan AKSI hari ini, mengadakan media briefing bertajuk ‘Sejauhmana RUU TPKS Melindungi Anak Korban Kekerasan Seksual’ secara daring untuk menyuarakan upaya kolaborasi dalam mengupayakan RUU PKS yang mengakomodir perlindungan anak.
Public Consultation for People with Disabilities for Inclusive Mid-Term Planning of Sumbawa District
Plan Indonesia, through the Water for Women project in Sumbawa District of Nusa Tenggara Barat Province, try to push the involvement of people with disability in the public consultation process. Plan Indonesia even supports a public consultation specifically for PwD. This specific public consultation is part of the series of public consultations supported by Plan Indonesia to ensure WASH GESI is integrated within the five years of Mid-term Planning. The first public consultation was for children, then for PwD, and specific sanitation issues.
Satu bulan berlalu pasca terjadinya erupsi Gunung Semeru. Plan Indonesia yang sudah ikut melakukan tanggap darurat sejak awal, kini masih terus berupaya mendukung pemerintah di fase pemulihan. Selain pemulihan, hingga akhir Desember 2021, Plan Indonesia telah melakukan distribusi paket sekolah ke tiga sekolah tersebut di atas sebanyak 358 paket dan melakukan kampanye dengan menyebarkan 300 poster di dua Kecamatan di Kabupaten Lumajang, Jawa Timur.
Selama hampir satu tahun, Plan Indonesia menerapkan program BRIGHT (Bringing Girls to High Potentials through Joyful Learning) di tujuh sekolah terpilih di Lombok Utara. Program ini merupakan tindaklanjut dari SELARAS, respons tanggap darurat COVID-19 Plan Indonesia pada akhir 2020.
Klender youth shares innovative tech for the environment at Disaster Risk Management National Conference
Joko was a 22-year-old Urban Nexus participant from the Klender sub-district who joined in the presentation alongside experts from various areas. He spoke alongside resources from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, the Centre for Volcanology and Disaster Mitigation, and the National Disaster Management Agency. Joko shared his experience, mainly developing the locally-produced flood early warning tools components and its standard operating procedure. He also shared that his team had tested the device during a flood in his village. People from the flood-prone Klender subdistrict can now evacuate as soon as they hear the warning sound from the early warning system.
Reza, a 21-year-old in the Krendang sub-district, West Jakarta, is participating in Plan Indonesia’s Urban Nexus programme activities. He then learned a lot of capacity-building knowledge that he could apply. Aside from that, Reza began to promote a healthier lifestyle to his family and surroundings. As part of the youth who joined the Urban Nexus peer educator training, Reza learned more about climate change and the small ways to adopt a sustainable lifestyle.
Shula, a 19-year-old, is a Klender (East Jakarta) youth representative who joins Plan Indonesia’s Urban Nexus programme activities. In 2021, she joined Urban Nexus’s series of peer educator training, including the Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) training. Through the Urban Nexus training, Shula and the other youth participants started discussing menstruation myths and facts. They learned that a woman must keep her body clean and healthy, especially when menstruating.
Vivi, a young deaf woman from West Nusa Tenggara has a dream to be a teacher because the profession can share knowledge that is valuable to others.
